How global is your business?
At £70 bn turnover in 2022, UK chemicals sector represents 1.2% of UK GDP, placing the UK just below the top 10 countries globally. Chemicals account for 15% of UK exports and 12% of imports, the second largest UK export sector.
The Department of Business & Trade (DBT) works closely with businesses in the sector, using our network of experts in the UK and across the globe to ensure that companies across the UK have access to the knowledge and skills they need to be a successful exporter. In the past few years, over 200 companies have reported winning additional exports totalling over £650m with DBT support
