Presentation:
Adapting to COSHH Requirements: Technology's Role in Safeguarding Workers
Wednesday 13.20 to 13.40, Stage 4
Joint Speakers
EcoOnline
For companies dealing with hazardous substances, ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations is essential. However, achieving compliance often comes with challenges. Those with operations across Europe are faced with reach divergence of legislation between the EU and UK, creating practical hurdles for large and mid-sized corporations. In 2024, forward-thinking companies are increasingly turning to digitalisation to address complex issues. In the realm of chemical management, the stakes are even higher – compliance is not just a legal requirement; it’s a matter of protecting workers’ safety. Artificial intelligence (AI) has been a buzzword for businesses as they adapt to widespread digitalisation and automation of everyday tasks. Can it do the same in the health and safety arena? This talk will explore the role of technologies, including AI, in controlling exposure to COSHH hazards and ensuring compliance, despite regional divergence. As the chemical management landscape continues to evolve, what challenges must organisations consider? From dust exposure to PFAS, which hazardous substances should companies prioritise avoiding? Are there opportunities for businesses to proactively improve operations and keep their workers safe? Joined by a customer to discuss their company’s experience with adapting to COSHH requirements, Gary and Max from EcoOnline can talk about the best way to extract value from technology’s implementation in chemical management.
